Prof. Dr. Jian-Jia Chen 陳建佳
Chair (Vorsitzender)
is Chair Professor of Cyber-Physical Systems at RWTH since April 2026. Before, he was Chair Professor of Design Automation for Embedded Systems of Faculty of Informatics (Computer Science) at TU Dortmund from April 2014. He started his European Journey in 2008 as a Postdoc at ETH Zurich, followed by Juniorprofessorship at Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) in 2010. He received the ERC Consolidator Award in 2019. He was elected as the chair of the executive board with a vision to provide suitable means for Taiwanese scholars and researchers to sustainably integrate into European society.
Dr. Hsin-Fang Chang 張馨方
Vice Chair (stellvertretende Vorsitzender)
is Young Investigator at the Center for Integrative Physiology and Molecular Medicine (CIPMM), department of Cellular Neurophysiology at Saarland University (UdS), Germany. She received her Ph.D. degree (Summa cum laude) in 2017 from the medical faculty of Saarland university with Calogero Pagliarello-Studienspreis for her thesis. Afterward, she worked at Institute for Neuroimmunology and Multiple Sclerosis Research (IMSF) at University Medical Center Göttingen (UMG) for her postdoc. She obtained a tenure position in 2019 at UdS and is leading several scientific projects from her own grants.
Prof. Dr.-Ing. Kuan-Hsun Chen 陳冠旬
General Officer (Generalsekretär)
is Professor of Computer Systems at Paderborn University in Germany. Between 2021 and 2026, he was Tenured Assistant Professor (UD1) at the Computer Architectures for Embedded Systems group, the University of Twente, in the Netherlands. He was a Postdoc for the Faculty of Informatics at TU Dortmund University, in Germany. He earned his Ph.D. degree (Dr.-Ing.) with the highest distinction (Summa cum laude) with a dissertation award from TU Dortmund in 2019. His EU journey started in 2013 with Prof. Dr. Jian-Jia Chen from Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) in Germany.
Prof. Dr. Tsu-Wei Chen 陳祖威
Finance Chair (Schatzmeister)
is Professor of Intensive Plant Food Systems of Faculty of Life Science at Humboldt Universität zu Berlin since September 2020. He came to Europe in 2009 and worked in Hannover (Germany) and Montpellier (France). He received the DFG Emmy Noether Program in 2020.
Dr. Zhan-Hong Lin
Board member (Vorstandmitglieder)
is originally from Taiwan, obtained his B.S. degree from National Cheng Kung University and his M.S. degree from National Tsing Hua University. He worked as a research assistant in the Nanophotonics Device Laboratory located in the Research Center for Applied Sciences at Academia Sinica. In July 2017, he started his Ph.D. studies at the Department of Nanophotonics in Leibniz-Institut für Photonische Technologien, Germany, under the supervision of Dr. Jer-Shing Huang and Prof. Dr. Jürgen Popp. His research focuses on plasmon-enhanced spectroscopy and the optical properties of fluorescent microspheres, especially on enhanced chiral light-matter interactions at the nanoscale and modulated whispering gallery modes within microcavities. In 2023, he received his Ph.D. from Friedrich-Schiller-Universität Jena and then joined the group of Prof. Chih-Jen Shih at ETH Zürich.
Dr. Min-Chen Wang

Min-Chen is an EU researcher at Kiel University. She received her Ph.D. in 2021 from the TIGP Biodiversity Program at Academia Sinica, Taiwan. She is an ecophysiologist investigating how marine organisms regulate energy and adapt their life cycles to changing environments. She was the first recipient of the Postdoctoral Overseas Scholarship for Sustainability Studies from the Foundation for the Advancement of Outstanding Scholars in Taiwan, which supported her postdoctoral research in Germany. She is currently supported by the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions and the Kiel University COFUND Program for her postdoctoral research.
Dr. Ting-Hao Kuo 郭廷浩

Ting-Hao is a Taiwanese postdoctoral fellow at EMBL Heidelberg, Germany. Trained as a chemist at National Taiwan University, where he received his PhD in 2021, he is interested in understanding how microbes shape their chemical environments in hosts and natural environments. He has held MSCA and Humboldt postdoctoral fellowships.
Dr. Shiang-Yu HUANG 黃翔昱

Shiang-Yu Huang is a postdoctoral researcher at the Institute for Quantum Information and Technology at the University of Stuttgart, Germany. His work explores how inverse design and silicon photonics can advance integrated components for emerging quantum photonic technologies.
He earned both his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from the Department of Electrophysics at National Chiao Tung University in Taiwan. In 2022, he received his PhD from Friedrich Schiller University Jena, Germany. His doctoral research focused on chiral structured illumination microscopy, bridging advanced optical imaging with the study of chiral light–matter interactions.
PD Dr. habil. Jer-Shing HUANG 黃哲勳

Dr. Jer-Shing Huang is the head of the Research Department of Nanooptics at the Leibniz Institute of Photonic Technology (Leibniz-IPHT). He is also an adjunct professor at the Department of Electrophysics at National Chiao Tung University (NCTU) and an adjunct research fellow at the Research Center for Applied Sciences (RCAS) at the Academia Sinica in Taiwan. Before 2016, he was an associate professor at the Department of Chemistry of National Tsing Hua University in Taiwan. He is a member of the Editorial Advisory Board of ACS Photonics and SPIE Visiting Lecturer.

Prof. Dr. Yian Tai 戴 龑
Dr. Sara Hsin-Yi Yang 楊欣怡
serves since January 2022 as consultant physician (Oberärztin) and director of the Division of Dermatopathology within the Department of Dermatology at the University Hospital Schleswig-Holstein in Lübeck, Germany.
She was born and raised in Taiwan. Upon receiving her bachelor’s degree from National Taiwan University, Dr. Yang moved to Germany to pursue her medical education. She was admitted to several renowned German medical schools, including LMU in Munich and Charité in Berlin. She decided to study in Heidelberg at the Ruprecht-Karls-Universität, where she graduated in 2009.
She is a board certified dermatologist subspecialized in dermatopathology and dermatological surgery. She completed her residency training in Switzerland and Germany, as well as subspecialty training in the United States.
Dr. Yang enjoys teaching medical students and residents. She has published numerous journal articles and is known among colleagues for her well-received talks in both English and German languages. Her research interests focus mainly on clinical dermatology and dermatopathology.
Dr. Yu-Wen Hsieh 謝郁文
He is a Pharma/Biotech strategy consultant, experienced in stem cell and regenerative medicine, cancer research, and innovative therapeutics.
Biology background in Taiwan (BSc and MSc) and Germany (PhD). Major focus on developmental and regenerative biology with advanced microscopy skills (CLSM and LSFM), image analysis, and whole embryo live-recording.
Prof. Dr. Chih-Jen Shih 施智仁
is Professor of Chemical Engineering in Department of Chemistry and Applied Biosciences at ETH Zurich, Switzerland. He received bachelor and Ph.D degrees from National Taiwan University and Massachusetts Institute of Technology, respectively, before coming to Europe in 2015. He has received the Victor K. Lamer Award from the American Chemical Society, the Ruzicka Preis from the Swiss Chemical Society, and the ERC starting grant from the European Research Council.
