Meichun Mohler-Kuo

Professor at University of Zurich

Prof. Meichun Mohler-Kuo studied nursing science at National Taiwan University. She then continued her education at the School of Public Health at Harvard University in the USA, where she earned a master's degree and a doctoral degree (Sc.D.) with specializations in child and adolescent mental health, psychiatry epidemiology, and biostatistics.
From 2004 to 2017, she worked at the Institute of Epidemiology, Biostatistics and Prevention at the University of Zurich. She habilitated in 2006 and received the titular professorship at the University of Zurich since 2014. She established and led the Competence Center for Mental Health together with Prof. Milo Puhan from 2014-2017. Since March 2017 she has been a full professor at La Source, School of Nursing Sciences, (HES-SO) University of Applied Sciences and Arts of Western Switzerland, Lausanne and continues to develop research projects. In addition, she is leading a research group ‘Psychiatric Epidemiology and Public Mental Health’ at the University Hospital of Psychiatry Zurich, Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and Psychotherapy and Psychotherapy at the University of Zurich since 2018. Over the past 20 years, she has conducted several large epidemiological studies in the areas of mental health, addiction and child health.
